Getting back into Rainmeter, I'd like to share a condensed list of programs that are useful and pertinent to some of the interests here (text/code editing). All three of the normal programs can be used through normal installation, a package manager, or are portable.
CopyQ: https://hluk.github.io/CopyQ/Advanced clipboard manager
Everything: https://voidtools.com/Filename search engine
lite-xl: https://lite-xl.com/Extensible text editor written in C and Lua
Clonezilla: https://clonezilla.org/Partition and disk imaging/cloning program
Ventoy: https://ventoy.net/Image multibooting
CopyQ: If I had to keep one supplemental program for text/code editing, it'd be a clipboard manager, and CopyQ can be made simple or involved as needed. A good alternative is Ditto.
Everything: I think it's been mentioned here previously, but the normal Windows search legitimately pales in every aspect compared to how useful, usable, and efficient Everything is.
lite-xl: Text editor choice is personal and subjective (Notepad++, Sublime Editor, CudaText, Geany, etc), but one interesting point of lite-xl is that it's largely written in and configured with Lua, so at least for me, it's the most accessible for configuration beyond the basics. VSCode is still my full-sized editor when needed, but as a Notepad replacement, lite-xl fits well.
Clonezilla: Not a 'normal program' per se or tightly connected to editing, but it's saved me many times from data loss and having to completely reload Windows from scratch when mangling modifying stuff. It shouldn't be your only backup option, but for disk and partition backup, it's excellent.
Ventoy: Connected to the above, instead of having to individually flash a single ISO to a USB drive, Ventoy allows multiple ISOs to be booted from the drive just from accessing the image file itself. And it's great when trying out other OSes (aka Linux).
