One thing that has perplexed me for many years is image orientation. This isn't really a Rainmeter question, as such, but I am curious why this happens and why Rainmeter doesn't do what every photo viewer/editor does.
I have many photos that have been taken sideways accidentally, due to phones not correctly orientating themselves when taking pictures. I'm sure you know what I mean!
Rainmeter is showing my images exactly as they were taken. My issue is, does anyone know how to use an editor to correctly orient them?
That seems like a really dumb question for which I know many people's reaction is simply, "yeah, you click the rotate button in the editor!" Well, no. That doesn't work. I've tried so many times to correct this and every editor does the same thing in my experience.
Let's say you have an image that displays natively 90 degrees anti-clockwise, this seems the most common, but it could just as easily be clockwise. These images show in Rainmeter exactly as taken, ie, 90 degrees anti-clockwise, or, on their side, laying down. But open that same image in any editor or viewer and its orientation is corrected automatically. I don't want that, I want to manually correct it so IT IS correct. Some viewers even show the correct orientation for a moment before "correcting" it! This shows the orientation is actually incorrect and being corrected automatically by the viewer.
I have tried using editors to adjust this, but then they show the image incorrectly. Take the example above. If I rotate it 90 clockwise to correct the image rotation, the editor/viewer then displays the image 90 clockwise instead of it's actual orientation, ie it's correct orientation. Does that make sense?
