I always wanted sticky notes on my desktop that have a completely transparent background. It means my notes would not be super-distracting, and my beautiful desktop could shine. (This would also require a nice drop shadow so I could read the notes no matter the wallpaper.) I've looked at quite a few apps and skins, and only one seems to be capable of doing the job and not looking awful: Axxrael's awesome Noteboard skin for Rainmeter. https://github.com/Axxrael/Rainmeter--Noteboard
However, there are three main issues with this skin, all of which Axxrael addresses. And there's only one I super need fixing in order to use it.
1. You can't use <ENTER> to carriage return in a note, only CTRL+ENTER
2. Double quotes break the note (you have to edit the .txt to fix)
3. When updating the note, the pre-existing note's text doesn't become transparent. This means you'll be seeing the original text and the new text on top of it other during editing, and that's very hard to read. This third one, this is the big one.
I would like help fixing this third one. I can use the fix in an edited version of Axxrael's skin; but if we succeed, we should see if we can contact them about this fix— and the other two fixes if we can do those too.
Now, I am not a programmer. I have custom skins; but I got scripting help with one, and the clock was easy to make myself. So I'll contribute where I can, but I definitely need help. I think a lot of people would appreciate a fix-up of this skin. I think it's for a good cause.
